  Bible Contradictions regarding forgiveness & revenge...Not a trustworthy moral guide

  recent broadcast have gerrit losch talking about not holding a grudge and in septembers broadcast david splain talking about not demanding an apology after being wronged.

  the subject of forgiveness and revenge is one of many examples of moral contradictions in the bible.

  the book 1984 mentioned the terms double think and double speak.

  This is exactly where I am at now with the elders. They are DEAMDING THAT I FORGIVE THEM FOR ALLOWING CHILD MOLESTERS TO HOLD AND TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN PEROID!

  They say they just made mistakes and that they did not really know way, way, way back in 07 and 08 that having registered sex offenders with children was not good. That they had to get clearer information from Bethel on how to handle it. But I am supposed to forgive them now and just move on even through their own magazines say victims of abuse just simply cannot do that as the October 8th 1993 Awake says.

  I was just told I need to break bread with these elders even through they will not break bread with me at their homes, By forcing me to have them into my home to "break bread" with them it is showing the outside world that I accept their stupidity.

  Also Ihave just been told that we are all just volunteers and can refuse a assignment in field serive. I was just told by a CO that if I get assigned to work with a pedophile I can say NO! Funny there is nothing in print that says this, I am just suppose to take the current CO'S word at this until the next CO changes it.

  Yet every WT that has come out in the last 5 year's says we have to obey the ekders no matter what.

  "did it ever occur to you, old friend, that maybe they know something that you don't know and have valid reasons for leaving?

  ", i asked.. his response set me back for an answer.

  I left for almost the same reason as Pistoff. It was totally over the Child abuse policy or I should say lack of care for children.

  I have never done anything wrong that would remotely qualify for me to be df'ed through I have been threatened because I will not accept the elders love of pedophiles.

  Question about an elder and if I am crazy

  ok so i have a question.

  i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.

  so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

  My name

  That has been part of the problem, I honestly do not get it myself. Looking at it now I see my husband has not stood up for me. Like when the elder was following me around the hall, at first I thought I had to be imaging it myself, I mean who does that?

  For most of our marriage I have had to stand on my own, the religion has always come first. But this goes beyond the religion this is just creepy and unnerving.

  After reading all the posts I think that is a huge reason I have doubted myself because I have been on my own dealing with this.

  I honestly do not know if our marriage will survive, I am just so tired, I wanted a husband not an elder, I wanted a partener in life.

  A huge part of my craziness is having no support, I have no family, no siblings, cousins, no one. No children, I am totally all alone in the world. I was raised in the JW closed world. I have no one to bounce off when craziness happens. And of course the JW's, the elders tell me I am crazy.

  I love this sight, I cannot thank Simon enough, it's trully all I have. I have met Flipper, and Mrs. Flipper they have been a life savor to me, as has OTWO and others.

  Thank you againeveryone for your repiles, they mean a lot.

  when my husband and i left the religion of jehovah’s witnesses (jws), we, like countless others, lost family members and friends because of the witnesses shunning doctrine.

  I remember that magazine and that letter. I was working with his wife at 90 Sands when that came out.

  It breaks my heart to think of how he has shunned you. One day he will totally regret it.

  There was a stupid sister where I live that shunned her dad for year's because he couldn't stop smoking. He had gotten baptized in the late 60's when you could smoke, and they DF'ED him when they changed the rules. He dided suddenly after she had been shunning him for about 30 year's.

  I honestly do not know how she can live with herself, as he truly loved her.

  It is all just so sad.

  Funny but my die hard JW husband even said that one reason they might have felt the need to move is because of how horrible they have treated the victims of their injustices especially the sexuality abused ones.

  This way they are tucked away and it would be a lot harder for some off balanced victim to take them out.

  It is strangely sad for me to hear my husband say that because when we were serving where the need was great a off balanced JW in the hall threanted to kill us and some person in the service department at Bethel (who you never get told their name God forbid)told my husband that no matter what we could not go to the police.

  I begged and pleaded with my husband but he said he had to obey Bethel. I would go by myself to the police now but at that time I was a stupid submission house plant of a wife.

  I wonder if they have had threats and that's one reason for the move.

  i know that it must seem silly to ask, but my brother and his family think that the big a will arrive before they die.

  i tried to explain to my brother that everyone else who has ever lived in the past has died and only jesus has [physically] rose from the dead.. it is amazing that anyone could buy that line.

  what crazy cult culture that could make people believe such nonsense?!.

  australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

  You make a very good point about it being harmful, every since I have seen it I have been in such a depression. I wonder how many others have been affected like me.

  I am going to my counselor next week and it is one of the first thing's I am going to show her, I really want her take on it.
